Dear Parishioners,
The feast of the Presentation falls on a Sunday this year and because it is a feast of the Lord it takes precedence over the Sundays of the Year. As we know, the number 40 is a prominent biblical one. The feast of the Presentation of the Lord( formerly Purification) marks the passage of 40 days since Christmas. (The next significant 40 day period in our liturgical calendar will, of course, be the season of Lent.) That will recall the wandering of God`s people through the desert. So, time is speeding by like the Indian-Pacific along the Nullarbor, though this only takes 4 days! Read more..
