COVID-19 Level 2 Measures at IJ

From tomorrow 3^rd March, Level 2 COVID-19 Public Health and Social Measures will be introduced state-wide. Our parish continues to support and to comply with both WA Government and Archdiocese of Perth directives.  The new measure that will certainly affect our Masses is the 150-person capacity limit (excluding the people required to conduct the service). Our parish is large and the weekend Mass attendances usually exceed that 150 limit (the daily Masses will not be affected as the 150 limit is adequate). So from this weekend, we will be counting Mass attendances, first in best dressed basis. As the limit applies to both in the Church and outside the Church, it will not be possible for anyone to stay outside once the limit is reached.

Please also be aware of the following:

• The use of hand sanitiser is strongly encouraged. The use of contact registers and masks are a condition of entry. Masks are required for children from year three, and older. If feeling unwell, or have flu-like symptoms or fever or have been in contact with a person/s suspected to have or who have been diagnosed with COVID 19, do not attend church/parish centre.
• Entry to the church is through the left hand door (marked “Entry”) and exit through the right hand door (marked “Exit”) before and during Mass. Exit is also permitted through the double glass doors at the conclusion of Mass.
• We again must observe appropriate physical distancing between people of different households. Signs will, again, be placed on the ends of pews to inform everyone of this requirement.
• Frequent cleaning / disinfecting of the church and parish centre will be carried out by parish staff.
