Dear Parishioners,

 This Wednesday, 13th February, we have the beginning of Lent with the celebration of the Ash Wednesday services. In this Year of Faith, the beginning of Lent is a good time to commit more deeply to our faith. I encourage you to resolve to use this six weeks of Lent to come to know Jesus in a deeper way.

The Gospel this week is one which should help us to reflect on faith and its rewards. The disciples, tired from a full night of fishing, without catching a thing, are challenged by Jesus to put their boats back in the water and throw out their nets once more. He asks them to trust that if they do so, they will catch something – even though their experience has shown them that it is useless.  Read more…
