Parish Bulletin, 2nd September 2012 – 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B

Dear Parishioners,

As a parish community, I think that we often take ourselves for granted.

Last weekend, our 74 young Confirmands attended the annual Confirmation retreat which ran from 8.30am to 12noon. The entire retreat was planned, prepared and facilitated by a number of young adults from our parish and some of their friends from other parishes. The retreat was a mix of spiritual, prayer and fun activities and included personal testimony from some of the young adults about their own faith and the impact it has on their lives. The content, organization and enthusiasm exhibited could not be faulted - it was an excellently presented retreat which I have no doubt will impact and remain with our young Confirmands for some time to come.  How many parishes would have the opportunity to offer an experience like this?  Read more…
