Happy Lunar New Year!  Many of our parishioners gather at this time with their families to celebrate New Year.  For our Vietnamese and Chinese friends especially, it is a time when families gather to renew their bonds of mutual love and respect and to wish each other Health, Happiness and Prosperity for this year and always.

 

In today’s Gospel Jesus calls fishermen to come to him, to follow him and learn from him.  Peter recognizes his own unworthiness to be with Jesus.  It is because of this and not in spite of it that Jesus calls him.  Only when we know our unworthiness can we come to know God.  Jesus then sends Peter to continue his mission by fishing for people not fish. Read more…
