Dear Parishioners,

 Pope Francis has been with us for almost a year  and  has slowly but surely placed his own unique stamp on the modern papacy. From the beginning the impression  made has been far-reaching. We might say the initial impact has been his humility and humanity. `Pray for me` he asked the people in the Square below the first evening. This was the first time a Pope asked anyone to pray for him in public. Afterwards he made it clear he would be returning to his bed in the guesthouse, – not the Papal Apartments. Later he  insisted on paying his bill for accommodation during Conclave. A few  days later  he rang up his dentist in Buenos Aires to cancel an appointment – surprise, surprise!
