Dear Parishioners,
During the week I met with the Acolytes for an evening of reflection on this important ministry. As part of our discussion, we talked about the need for Acolytes, as instituted Ministers, to learn all they can about their faith, especially in relation to the celebration of our liturgies.
In today’s Gospel, we hear how important it is to always carry the Word of God with us and to obey Jesus’ teachings. When he sent the seventy two out, he told them to take nothing at all, offering them only his words to carry with them; words of peace and healing. What happened? We hear that the seventy two “came back rejoicing” and full of praise for Him. Read more …
